Hey everyone... I got a nice honor in the mail today from Poetry.com. I submitted a poem, Addicted to Empty, to them several weeks back and got a letter today about how it was accepted into the finals for their anual Poetry Contest. Top prize is $10,000 dollars so one can only hope. The cool thing is that even if i dont win anything my Poem will be published in the Internatiol Poetry House's Poets of the Year Collection for 2001. Since technically it is one of the first major publishings i have had i am very proud :) If you go to their website you can type my name in and see my poem. It is under Michael Lance Rawls.. since that is my name (funny how that works):)

Hey guys. I spent the week in Shreveport working on some stuff for the CD with our new guitar player, Devin. He just graduated Louisiana Tech and is incredible on the guitar. Well while I was in Shreveport I picked up a hole or two in my body. LOL. Actually i got my eyebrow pierced. He lives... He lives... me that is. Despite those nasty rumors and the not-so-flattering milk carton pictures, i am still around. (depending on who you talk to that can be a good or a bad thing :) A lot of things have been happening since my last update and honestly they have kept me so incredibly busy. My mother got married to an incredible guy, the band's line up made a slight adjustment, i made a road trip or two, i got to spend time with my best friend jenny, we played one of the best gigs of my entire musical career, we purchased a domain for the official band website, I went through an incredibly painful but totally necessary personal relationship alteration with a supposed "friend", endured a small span of sleep deprivation, my brother graduated, and got a lot of long needed sun! I would say that no matter what the quantity of rough things that have happened is, the good things far outway it in quality. (especially the whole "me not being so pale anymore" thing... it is hard being naturally white folks :::choking back the tears:::: you dont know my pain.. wah wah wah lol j/k) I have uploaded TONS of new pictures (mostly old pictures from the bands i have been in and some really good pics of some old friends) but i am so unmotivated right now that i cant seem to get myself to write the HTML for the pages... just keep checking the images section. They will be there soon enough.

For those of you who don't know, here is one of the promo pics of the band i am in, World's Fare. We had a lot of new stuff done for our press kits and i will do my best to get it all into the images section soon... plus, we located some REALLY OLD pics of us from years ago when we played together. If you can get past our bad haircuts, some of them are pretty amusing. I will get them all up as soon as i can.

Sorry guys about not being on in so long... my cable modem service, Roadrunner by AOL Time Warner, has been down for almost a week... and i have to tell you, their tech support makes AOL's official tech support look like gods... THEY SUCK! I was actually told my three different techs that the only to resolve this issue was to reinstall my Windows 2000 operating system.. so against all my good judgement i listened... and when i was through, it was still broke... >:/ Needless to say i was beyond upset. But, I am not bitter...lol..

I told everyone way back when the new Dave Matthews ablum came out to look out for "The Space Between" because it was going to be all over radio soon... Well, it has been released as an official single now and i can't wait to say I TOLD YOU SO! lol...j/k. The video for "The Space Between" was released today and i must say it is by far the best video i have ever seen.(maybe i am biased) It is jam packed with enough symbolisim to choke a 9th grade English teacher. Anywho... I literally sat in awe through the whole thing and actually got chills when the rain starts pouring down on them. It is phenomenal. Ah yes... yet another day in the grinder we love to call life... There are times where I am so thankful things have ended up how they are right now. I am learning the true value of friendship in ways i have never known... A true friend will never abandon you and will love you despite how many times you wound them... they listen to the breathless tears and dwell in the echoing laughter... And I realize now how hard it really is to be a good friend... I talked to my friend Becky tonight and she made me laugh my butt off for about an hour.. what a great way to end the day... Thank you to all of my real friends... i am in debt to each of you...
